Ciao e Buon mercoledì!

Ci credi se ti dico che ho completamente perso il conto dei giorni e che mi sono accorta che non avevo scritto la newsletter solo lunedì mattina? Che testa!

Ho passato giorni di grande preoccupazione da quando siamo tornati a Perth. Alice (3 anni), la figlia dei nostri amici ha subito un intervento importante alla gola per un’infezione gravissima.

Non ti preoccupare, ti rassicuro che ora sta meglio, i suoi valori di giorno in giorno migliorano e lei, ora, deve solo riacquistare il buon umore.

Il papà è un mio amico da quando facevamo le scuole medie ad Alba. La mamma è Tailandese e come me, non hanno famiglia qui, così sto cercando di fare del mio meglio per aiutarli e di stargli vicina.

Spero di non averti rattristito, ma sentivo il bisogno di condividere con te questo momento, perché in momenti come questi ci accorgiamo che dobbiamo apprezzare ogni minuto che passiamo con i nostri cari. Soprattutto con i nostri piccoli.

Così in questi giorni stringo ancora di più Charlie, gli dico quanto gli voglio bene e ringrazio il cielo della fortuna immensa che ho per averlo accanto.

Hello and Happy Wednesday!

Would you believe me if I told you that I completely lost track of the days and only realized I hadn't written the newsletter on Monday morning? Foolish me!

I've been going through a few days of great concern since we returned to Perth. Alice (3 years old), the daughter of our friends, underwent major surgery on her throat for a very serious infection.

Don't worry, I assure you that she is doing better now, her values are improving day by day, and she just needs to regain her good spirits.

Her father is a friend of mine since we were in middle school in Alba. Her mother is Thai and, like me, they don't have any family here, so I'm doing my best to help them and be there for them.

I hope I haven't saddened you, but I felt the need to share this moment with you because in times like these, we realize that we must appreciate every minute we spend with our loved ones. Especially with our little ones.

So these days, I'm holding Charlie even closer, telling him how much I love him, and thanking my lucky stars for the immense fortune I have to have him by my side.

In Italian, the word "abbraccio" comes from the Latin "ab-bracchium" which means "to turn one's arms (braccia) towards someone or something."

"affetto", "intimità", "vicinanza", "amore", "consolazione", "protezione" e "conforto".

Verbi correlati: (related verbs)

Now try to formulate a few sentences using those verbs and words, it will help you remember them.

Che buoni “gli abbracci”! I don't know an Italian who hasn't eaten these cookies at least once. Watch this PUBBLICITÀ and read below the description.

Gli Abbracci, sono dei biscotti e sono stati inventati nel 1991 dal marchio Mulino Bianco, appartenente alla società Barilla, in Italia.

La loro ricetta è stata ideata da un team di esperti pasticceri che si sono ispirati ai biscotti tradizionali italiani. Gli Abbracci sono composti da due biscotti a forma di ciambella intrecciati: uno di pasta frolla al burro e l'altro di cioccolato.
